With its five adjustable tilt angles, two soft pads and slip - proof footstep MediStep ensures that you can take care of your feet in comfort. The durable steel legs with rubber caps provide stability on any type of surface while making sure they're held tight against it at all times so there's no slippage!
MediStep version comes with a clip - on storage with a mirror. The Selfie MediStep also has an easy to use cell mount and remote control so you can check the health of both feet conveniently. Early detection is key when it comes down getting wounds treated quickly before they become misshapen or infected.
The size-conscious design uses every inch to organize your foot care space and keep it neat. MediStep is lightweight, portable, and easy to carry around. It takes minimum space due to the ergonomic design and foldable legs. Simply collapse it, put away for storage or hang it.
You will open the MediStep and place the legs in a height that is comfortable for you and then place the foot at the edge of the MediStep where the heel support is , in as close to a vertical position as possible, so the camera of the phone capture the full under sole of the foot. Then you can use the Remote to take a selfie through the in-built camera of the phone or through one of the wound care apps. Please see the video the MediStep website with a step by step instruction.
In addition to using MediStep for taking Selfies of the foot and sending to the Doctor, one can also use MediStep for general foot care, such as wearing shoes, socks and general nail hygiene with minimal bending.
Wound Care Apps have different levels of maturity at this point. Some allow automatic scanning and measurement of the wound without any intervention (e.g. ‘MyWoundHealing’ app from KCI), most others require manual intervention to take a picture. You can easily take a Selfie of the foot with the Remote without having to reach for the phone.
In our testing of various apps, we found it has a good set of features built in – selfie camera mode, easy wound measurement process, simple interface, as well as emailing capability. Although you are not restricted to Imitomeasure app, and can use any app that is convenient for taking foot selfies, wound measurement,, and sending to physician.
Cell phone stand comes attached to the footstep, so you do not need to install it. Also, it can also easily by folded, so the MediStep can be easily stored.
Currently, MediStep is only available as samples for the medical providers and can be ordered by calling the toll-free number – 1-888-511-0002 and sharing your NPI number.
We have tested with shoe sizes of 16, which cover more than 95% of the population.
MediStep is a Class I 510(K) exempt device under 890.5050 Daily Activity assist device category, so does not require pre-market notification or FDA approval. Before the product is commercially available it will be listed with FDA.
The legs are sturdy and strong enough while sitting and placing your foot on the MediStep, but we would not suggest you stand on it.
The MediStep has five different heights, heel heights range from a min of 7.3” to a max of 10.3”. Also, the tilt angles range from a min of 9 degrees to a max of 23.5 degrees.
The MediStep base has anti-slip grooves as well as 2 soft pads for comfort. Additionally, the legs are made from stainless steel and the extended leg rests ensure that the MediStep does not tilt while in use. Also, the base of the MediStep has a 1” heel support for comfort and stability.
The full length of the MediStep from the heel to the top edge of the tray is 13” and the width is 5.8”. Yes, it will accommodate male foot size of up to 17.
There a 2 slots for the battery packs below the tray. The battery packs conveniently slide into the slots, and then you can attach the light w/magnifying glass. Similarly, the battery backs conveniently slide out when you need to replace the batteries.
Side grooves on the side are designed to store filers, and the slots in the grooves to hang cuticle clippers and nail cutters – mainly designed for easy access to the foot care tools.
The tray can catch any foot debris and can also be smoothly removed from the base to attach the mobile phone conveniently.
